DrSpalding I own this anthology. Poetry can work nicely as a read aloud but you can also perform choral poetry readings, echo reading etc. Scholastic is a high-quality resource. Expand on the universal design and English learner strategies. I won‘t continue to say that but know I am thinking it if you don‘t explicitly align them to your teaching strategies. 4y

DrSpalding Readers theater could work nicely. I have also seen this performed as a storytelling. One of the readers theater/English learner strategies that align nicely is providing short readings for homework. Sending home the scripts for them to practice is a valuable and authentic reason to read at home. 4y

DrSpalding At this point this book is probably considered historical fiction. It could be a good independent read but it could also be part of your science curriculum when and if you teach students about owls. You have provided a bit more information about the universal design and English learner strategies but the verbiage is not present. 4y

For EL students, try using a KWL strategy in conjunction with ESOL strategy 50. Your description makes it seem so interesting, and I know that students like seeing factual information in this way. I like that you said in your classroom resource description that this book is interest based! I will keep that in mind when implementing something like it in my class! 4y

DrSpalding Read works is another excellent resource! This could be used as reference material as an independent read but it could also support your space unit in science. The author/illustrator has won numerous awards. This would be a great book to add to your classroom library. 4y

Nkaufmann Ashley, what genre would you say this book is? The story of the Big Bad Wolf is a classic and students will definitely enjoy using this book as Readers Theatre. Great choice! This will help them to better understand the story. And it‘s also nice to switch it up every now and then by having the students perform the story instead of listening to you read. 4y

Young authors are in your classrooms! What a cool storytelling kit. They can be pricey but can give you great ideas as to possibly some resources you could make yourself. 4y
