I just couldn't get into this book. I only made it through chapter 1. It bounces back and forth between father and son and with a few stories I thought I'd create a connection with the characters but most of the book just dragged. I'll try again in a few years when I have more time.

ericarobynreads Chapter one was by far the worst. It was so hard to follow! The next two chapters are easier to read, but to me they were still boring. Good luck if you pick this one up again! 😁 7y

Not my typical read. Parts of the story felt far-fetched. But, overall a well-written book and a good story. #4star

Collection of short stories centered around a peculiar lady in a small town. Phenomenal read. #4.5stars

War memoir recalled in a dream-like narrative. Fascinating read about life in Vietnam but lacks emotion. #4star

Cleverly written. As a new parent, impacted me much differently than it would have previously. #4stars

Timeless political satire. Short read. Strange that I didn't have to read this in high school. #5stars

Ironic and lovely. Epic story with a few too many character plots. Loved that it was historical fiction. #4stars

Beautifully written. I was dreading another WWII book, but was so happy our club selected it in the end.
