Even though he‘s supposed to be ruthless and tough, there is another side to Jude. The other side is tough and ruthless. This story is about how Jude navigates both of his sides and how eventually he figures out that he can be both.

This book was extremely well written and there were so many twists and turns. I saw many people say how incredibly violent the book is. I really didn‘t think it was too violent but I may be a little desensitized.

Evil: The Science Behind Humanity‘s Dark Side was informative and entertaining. This is my first book by Dr. Julia Shaw and her writing pulls me in. There is a great mix of science (a lot of science), pop culture, and personal stories that makes this book one of my favorites of the year. At some points it is funny but she definitely knows when to reign it in when talking about sensitive subjects.

There is so much anger in the book and it is portrayed in such an interesting way. I felt along with the characters; the rage, the sadness, the love. I highly recommend this book, however there are instances of death, thoughts of suicide, and sex.

The ending was just phenomenal. It blindsided me and I was intrigued until the very last word.

The Rain Watcher: A Novel | Tatiana de Rosnay
Pickpick

Thank you to #netgalley and #stmartinspress for the review copy of The Rain Watcher by Tatiana deRosnay for my honest review.

Linden is heading to Paris to meet his family for a weekend celebrating his father's birthday. The rain doesn't stop. The novel takes place during the historic Paris flood in January 2018. Reaching the apex of the book you see the that the rain stops and then the pain stops.

Definitely recommend!

I loved this book. There were so many aspects that at one point I couldn‘t keep the characters straight.

It has everything you want in a story, suspense, love, humor, etc.

I wish it would have been longer so we could get more of a sense of where Kellner was after the war and what Myraleen and August were doing.

I feel towards the end it focused on Lilian when it was a book about the friendship of the two. That‘s why I only gave it 4/5.
