What Was Mine: A Novel | Helen Klein Ross
Mehso-so

I'd give What Was Mine ⭐️⭐️⭐️ & 1/2 ⭐️'s. It wrapped up too neatly, left me wanting more rage and raw emotions. It was a quick read, I liked it, but I felt I wanted more...more intensity. If my baby was taken from a shopping cart, I'd be a raving lunatic....I don't know that yoga & throwing rocks in the ocean would help me....too neatly tied up for me.

September TBR Pile, looking forward to The Nightingale, I Found You, the Woman in Cabin 10, and The Widow's Walk!

jessberk13 I'm so pumped to read The Nightingale this month, finally? Although I'm worried I've hyped it up too much! 8y
MoreBooksPlease The Nightingale was truly a beautifully written book ❤️ I have a total book hangover today! 8y

Charm Bracelet | Viola Shipman
Mehso-so

The Charm Bracelet was a nice story about bringing family together after too long. I thought it was too syrupy sweet though, everything was so overly colorful and happy, even the characters (except for one.) It did make me look online for the town, or one like it, because I would love to visit it.

Jaws has always been one of my favorite movies & I am SO glad I finally read the book! It takes place on Long Island, which was fun for me, I live there! I really liked the character development, although, not all the characters were like able. A wonderful summer beach read, I highly recommend it.

Reading Jaws for the first time! Takes place on Long Island, where I live...the movie was filmed in MA, so I always assumed it took place there. It is especially fun reading it at the beach!

I wish the story moved along a little quicker, it didn't start grabbing me until page 80, or so. Also, the ending was a bit unbelievable & would not suit me as a parent. I like Lisa Jewell, this wasn't one of my favorites though. I really liked The House We Grew Up In & The Third Wife.

I've seen mixed reviews on this book, but I really liked it. For me it was a quick read & I like the story....funny thing is, I tried to read the book with a French & Irish accent in my head! That didn't work out so well! But overall I thought it was good & I'm looking forward to the sequel.

The Promise of Stardust | Priscille Sibley
Pickpick

Thought provoking book, I fluctuated at times between Elle's right to remain pregnant even though she was technically brain dead, and the removal of life support. I felt both sides of this story, I think it was well written, characters are well developed, and I look forward to more from this author.

The Third Wife by Lisa Jewell was a tale of a family, or three, intertwined and scarred. It told of the lives of 3 wives and 5 children...their vacations, happiness, unhappiness and how selfish, and how selfless people can be. I really liked the book,I wish the ending was a bit more satisfying -4⭐️s
