The Confessions | Saint Augustine

The best part about the library is that you can get any book that grabs you. So far, this is very interesting. This copy is so nicely translated and the Bible quotes are italicized so you can tell when Augustine is quoting and when it is his own words.

Spells & Stitches | Barbara Bretton
Pickpick

Do not trust the back of the book on this one. The basic premise of this is shenanigans that go on when you are pregnant and have a magical baby. Nothing really dramatic goes on here, but it does provide a nice wrap up to the series. I really want Barbara Bretton to make a series continuation centered around the daughter so I can see more of Sugar Maple in the future. This was a nice little series and I'm sad it is over.

Spun By Sorcery | Barbara Bretton
Pickpick

The best thing about this book is that we spend 3/4 of the book not knowing anything that is going on. The mystery is so good that the last fight seemed almost rushed. In fact, my minor gripe is the ending. One minute they are fighting and the next minute it is resolved without much going on. Or at least the exact opposite of what you thought they were trying to do. Still a nice fast paced and fun read.

Laced with Magic | Barbara Bretton

Quick read, good plot, and good ending that leads right into the next book. Plus bonus references to Ravelry that don't sound put in just because "it is a magical knitting novel". I still don't like the perspective changes, but it is less jarring than in the first one. #knittingaddict

Welcome to Sticks n Strings, where your yarn never tangles, your sleeves always come out the same length, and you always, always get gauge. Quick paced light romance about half human/half sorceress & a 100% human cop. It is written in first person and sometimes it is easy to lose track if it is a Luke or Chloe chapter, but it was a good one night read. Plus, all the knitting references were perfectly on point & didn't stick out like a sore thumb.

Quick, steamy reading and engaging characters. I think the end went by way too fast, but most romances do. Everyone knows the best part is always the first part.

Confession: Sometimes I judge books by their covers. Especially when they are awesome and epic like this one.

It came back to the library yesterday! I sent it out through interlibrary loan and have been waiting for it to come back so I could read it.

On a similar note: why do these books not have separate entries? It looks like it is time to suggest a book because even though it looks like this book is in a series, they are separate books with their own plotline.

This is the first time I've fantasized about reading a book since Harry Potter. I might have to make a Target run today so I can find out what happens next.

I was hooked on the book from the second chapter. There was a moment in time where I realized it was written like the Hunger Games, but when I got to the end I realized it was a much more satisfying read and I want to read the next books to find out what happens. It is a strange mix of Hunger Games & Game of Thrones, but it works. If it can make a lapsed reader binge read a book like she was in elementary school again, then it must be good!

Got a new book yesterday and actually started reading it! It is so exciting that I stayed up way too late, but I really want to know what happens next!

Say what you will about this old cookbook, but this was the first cookbook to actually teach me how a chicken breast was supposed to be cooked without having to slice it open to see if it was still pink in the middle.

When I first tried to read this book, I hated it because I was fed misinformation about it. I assumed it ended in a tragic blow up between Julie and her husband, but instead it was a funny read about her journey (and failures) in cooking. I love a good book that will make me laugh out.

I got a new trilogy for my birthday! I was just looking for a new set of books to read. The cover art is goregeous and I also have matching bookmarks for all of the books.

MrBook It's about time, young lady 😂👏🏻😜 7y
MegWesley @MrBook :D I don't read nearly as often as I did when I was young. College ruined the fun for me and I'm still recovering. 7y

It has been over a week and I have no motivation to finish the first chapter. I know it gets better later on, but if the beginning doesn't grab me then I'm just not going to read it.

I get it already. The main character is an extremely insecure and self-conscious guy. Move on with it already and quit being so dumbfounded by a pretty girl.

This one looked interesting. I hope it is a good read and isn't just full of teen angst.

If you are anything like me and was seriously burned out by all literature because of becoming an English major in college, then this is the perfect book to kickstart your passion for reading. It is a hilarious and quick jaunt through the universe with snappy one liners that will have you laughing outloud while your friends and family stare at you wondering if you have finally lost it. Forget serious! This book makes reading FUN again!

This is the first book I have read in a long time that has made me break out into a massive giggle fit! Apparently my laughter is contagious because my mother in law started laughing when I was giggling. ♡

Between starting with 42 and knitting a Hitchhiker Shawl, I decided it was time to actually read The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy!
