Cuckoo's Calling | Robert Galbraith

I‘m definitely on a JK Rowling kick right now. Just listened to A Casual Vacancy on audio book and it was mediocre. I‘m currently reading the Harry Potter Series out loud to my baby in the womb. Now I‘m listening to The Cuckoo‘s Calling which is the first book in JK‘s mystery series written under her pen name Robert Galbraith. I am actually enjoying this book and the mystery and the characters she‘s created. Have you read this series?

Leilani Ok I tried to add a photo and for some reason it wouldn‘t let me. Help! 6mo
Leilani Oh I did it. Apparently you HAVE to edit it for it to work 6mo
julesG I love the Strike series. Just as much as Harry Potter. 6mo

Leilani Thanks for your help! Oh good I‘m glad I‘m in for some great books! 6mo
julesG Well, then we don't need to tag the Litsy gurus. I'll delete the comm9 6mo
Coleen I just recently made my way through the Cormoran Strike series. If you liked the first book, you‘re in for a treat. I think they keep getting better and better! (edited) 6mo
TimSpalding We good? 6mo
Kimberlone I enjoyed the whole series, although the third is my least favorite. The British series is also really good! 6mo
Leilani @TimSpalding yes thank you! 6mo
Leilani @Coleen oh yay! I didn‘t know there was a second series! 6mo
Leilani @Kimberlone cool! Looking forward to it! 6mo
Coleen Sorry, I didn‘t mean 2nd series....I meant the rest of this one. I also watched the TV adaptations. Good, but not as good as the books (of course). There‘s so much left out of the film versions. 6mo
Leilani Aw yes of course! Hmm I should check out the British series! Thanks 6mo
kgriffith Yeah, it‘s just that you have to pass through the editing screen even if you don‘t actually do anything to the image 😊 I enjoyed this one, the second was okay, and the third was probably the last I‘ll read/listen to; they‘re longer than they need to be, and violence against women as plot device is something I try to avoid. 6mo
CrowCAH Just finished; enjoyed it! 6mo
Leilani @CrowCAH sweet! Still working on it 6mo

Did anyone enjoy this book? I didn‘t hate it but was a little disappointed by it. I just listened to it on audible.

So I‘ve seen the movie... should I read the book? I‘m having a hard time getting myself to read books that I‘ve already seen the movies for. The other way around is way easier. What do you think?

julesG Yes. Read it. It's funny, it is slightly different from the film. The audiobook is also good, I just wish Matt Damon had narrated it. 11mo
Leilani Yeah that would be cool! I love audiobooks 11mo
