A Christmas Carol | Charles Dickens

My first ever Dickens and I have to say I enjoyed this a lot. I was worried I wouldn't understand the language, but I found it fine. I'd definitely like to try another Dickens soon, but I'm not sure which. Any recommends would be great! 😃

This was the perfect, cosy, romantic Christmas read I was wanting and hoping for. I'll definitely be reading more of Holly's Christmas books over the coming years 🎄😊

I read this festive book last December, and now I want to read some more nice Christmassy books this December. Does anyone have any recommendations please? YA or adult. I don't mind 😃

daydreamin_star I love Jenny Hale and Holly Martin's Christmas books. This year I also enjoyed A Very Merry Manhattan Christmas by Darcie Boleyn ^.^ 7y
Flower_Fairy @daydreamin_star ooh lovely, Thankyou. I'll have a look at those 😃 7y

This is a fab book with fab characters and a great storyline. I love Non's books because they always tackle teen issues brilliantly and really get you thinking #UKYANov #pocmaincharacter

This was the last #UKYA book that I bought after watching the #zoellabookclub video and thinking how fun it sounded. I've since read it and can confirm it is a fun read and I thoroughly enjoyed it (see previously posted review) #UKYANov

yayeahyeah Thanks for taking part again! I just read the spin-off short story from this series in the Winter Magic anthology and loved it - super cute! 7y
Flower_Fairy Oh I didn't know about this! Just looked up the anthology and it sounds like a nice winter/Christmas read 😊 7y
Fallen-in-between-the-pages For some reason I thought the u.k cover had a different title then the u.s one did 😮 7y

This has got to be one of my absolute favourite YA books! Full of fantastic characters whose every emotion, whether good or bad, you really feel and empathise with. You feel their struggle, but ultimately this book is full of compassion and hope and I feel it really is a very important book. #UKYANov #LGBT

yayeahyeah Love this one!! Thank you again for taking part in #UKYANov :) 7y
overflowingklc It is wonderful. I adored this book. 7y

Pre 21st century ukya is a little difficult for me as I never read ya as a teenager and I've only got into reading them over the last few years. So instead, I'm going to pick one I want to read and think I'll love 😃 #UKYANov

This book is one of my favourite YA books and has stayed with me ever since I first read it a few years ago. It's a touching and romantic story but it also has an edge to it which keeps you gripped throughout. I've chosen this one as my YA with fireworks because not only does it have real fireworks in it, it also has genuine and heartfelt sparks between the two main characters #UKYANov

Flower_Fairy I've just noticed that I've picked exactly the same book as @yayeahyeah for today's #UKYANov. I can't believe that! How strange! 7y
overflowingklc I loved this book. 7y
yayeahyeah That is COMPLETELY bizarre especially as it wasn't a particularly obvious one for the prompt - but the chemistry between them IS incredible; clearly we have fabulous taste! Thanks for taking part in #UKYANov :) 7y
Flower_Fairy @yayeahyeah yes, we do have fabulous taste 😃. It's one of my favourite books ever. I still think about it often and I read it quite a few years ago now. I love it when a book has that effect @overflowingklc 7y

I've heard and seen a lot about this book recently and seeing as I'm into humorous, light hearted YA at the moment, this seemed the perfect book to add to my TBR for November #UKYANOV

saresmoore I think we should all have a stash of funny, light-hearted YA ready and waiting—like good dark chocolate or wine. 📓🍫🍷 7y
Flower_Fairy @saresmoore I completely agree. I think we should always have a good stash of all three. What's better than reading a good book while eating chocolate and drinking wine? 😃 7y
yayeahyeah I really love this one; hope you enjoy! And thank you for taking part in #UKYANov :) 7y

This is a book I have many feelings about. It's a brilliant read and tackles some important issues, but emotionally it tore me apart. I never quite knew how to feel or what to expect due to one of the main characters erratic behaviour. I was in bits by the end! A great read though. I'd recommend.

yayeahyeah Def agree with this review - it's a superb book but probably the most emotionally draining of the year for me! 7y

I actually really enjoyed this book and it wasn't what I was expecting at all. It reads like a fairytale and I felt like it was a light hearted Hunger Games. It's a fun, easy read.

Mehso-so

This is one of those books I'm unsure how I feel about. I liked it to a certain degree. It's an easy read and it's humorous but bits of it irritated me too. I'm not sure I'd pick the next book in the series up but it was ok.

This is the first adult Paige Toon I've read (I've read one of her YA novels) and I have to say I loved this one. It kind of broke my heart but it was also uplifting and full of hope. It was a good summery read and I'll definitely be reading more of her novels

yayeahyeah Oh this sounds cool! I got sent it as it's in the #Zoellabookclub; will bump it up my TBR :) 7y
Flower_Fairy Yes I noticed it was in #zoellabookclub. I loved it. I think Paige is great. Definitely bump it up the TBR pile! 7y

My afternoon is sorted ☀️📖

nicolekukral Such a cute book! I love Rainbow Rowell! 8y
Flower_Fairy @nicolekukral me too. I particularly love Fangirl but I also loved Eleanor and Park. Enjoying Attachments so far! 8y
nicolekukral Have you read Carry On? Before I read it, Eleanor and Park was my favorite (though I loved Fangirl too), but I think Carry On is now my favorite RR title. If you loved Fangirl and haven't read CO, you have to! 8y

Flower_Fairy @nicolekukral I haven't read Carry On yet but if you recommend it then I'll pick up a copy when I next go book shopping. Have you read Kindred Spirits yet? That's good too 8y
nicolekukral No, I haven't read Kindred Spirits! Going to look for it now. Thanks!! 8y
nicolekukral And this is life changing. I had NO IDEA that Rainbow had a new book out. How did I miss this??!? 8y
Flower_Fairy @nicolekukral hahaha. It's only a short one for World Book Day but still... Do you like Star Wars? Lots of Star Wars references which were a bit lost on me! 8y
nicolekukral I watch Star Wars with my family, but I probably won't understand all the references. I can always ask my husband and daughter for help! :) 8y
Flower_Fairy @nicolekukral good idea. Hope you enjoy! 😃 8y
nicolekukral Thanks again for the rec! 8y

This is a lovely, light hearted, romantic read, but is also a stark warning about online bullying, how it can escalate and the effect it can have. I also liked the fact the book tackled the issue of anxiety and panic attacks bringing more awareness of the effects of both.
