Would anyone be interested in joining me for a #LMPBC of our own? It‘s not done through Litsy anymore, but I‘d love to do it on our own if a couple of people are interested. I took this picture recently to celebrate the fact that I finally had all of Abbi Waxman‘s books, and might use The Garden of Small Beginnings as my starting book if we decide to make this happen. Of course, I have a lot of others to choose from though. @LitsyEvents

BookishBrunette1 @kspenmoll I've read and loved The Bookish Life of Nina Hill and Adult Assembly Required. According to ChatGPT this is the order her books are “supposed“ to be read in but I love the fact that each of her books can be read as a stand alone as well. 4d
bookandbedandtea I'd be interested in joining! 📬 3d

BookishBrunette1 @bookandbedandtea would you be willing to get in touch via Facebook messenger or email for the planning process? That might be easier and faster than here since there isn't an instant messaging feature or a way to contact each other directly other than commenting on each other's posts (unless there's a feature I don't know about.) 2d
StayCurious I‘d be interested but I‘m in Canada. Not sure where you both are posting from? 1d
BookishBrunette1 @StayCurious I‘m in California. I‘m not sure where @bookandbedandtea is posting from. 1d
hya Hii!! Nice to meet you ❤️ I wanted to ask what is LMPBC and how can one be part of it?? I live in India btw 1d
BookishBrunette1 @hya I don‘t remember what each letter stands for. We each start with a book from our own shelf, and write our thoughts in the margins (or a separate paper) as we read. Once we finish our book, we send it to another participant. By the end of the swap, every participant has read their own book and all of the books chosen by other participants, and shared their thoughts. It‘s fun, but it might be hard to do since we live so far apart. 1d
bookandbedandtea I'm in Colorado. I'd be happy to send you an email if you'll add yours here. I agree that it would be easier to coordinate that way. 17h

The Book Haters' Book Club | Gretchen Anthony
Pickpick

@LitsyEvents I‘m a returning Litsy user and often think of a swap/bookclub I was part of because it was so fun. The tagged book is the one I used for that swap. We were split into groups of 4 or so, each person chose a book from our own shelf, wrote our thoughts in the margins and sent it to the next person. By the end, each of us got to read our own book and all of those chosen by the other group members. I‘d love to do that again.

ShelleyBooksie Due to the cost of shipping, this one hasn't run in awhile. It was a lot of fun! 6d
BookishBrunette1 @ShelleyBooksie gotcha. That makes sense. I‘ve mentioned it to a few book loving friends. They all liked the idea, but our follow through is pretty terrible. 🤦🏻‍♀️ 6d
ShelleyBooksie I know in the US there is the option of media mail but in Canada we don't have that and the shipping often exceeds the cost of the book - boo! I always enjoyed reading the notes others wrote!. 6d

BookishBrunette1 @ShelleyBooksie I do remember being encouraged to use media mail. That swap made me get over my aversion to writing in books. I loved reading other people‘s thoughts, figuring out what got their attention that may not have caught mine. 6d
LitsyEvents Welcome back! Have @ShelleyBooksie and @TieDyeDude answered your questions? I believe you were thinking of #LMPBC (if you want to explore the event & how it worked). Also look at #LItsySwaps for some of the Halloween and winter holiday activities. Please retag us if you decide to create a post to gauge interest or if you start an event! 6d
ElizaMarie I enjoyed when I engaged in these swaps- if you put one together please let me know 3d

Is there an admin or anyone I need to check in with, before sharing an idea for a book swap? I'm a returning Litsy user and it's one I still think about because I loved it so much. I'd love to do it again if people are interested. Just trying to avoid stepping on any toes. It was planned out by an admin the last time I did it.

TieDyeDude There isn't really anyone to check with; people sometimes put out a post like this gauging people's interest or they just go for it. You can tag @LitsyEvents to help spread the word and check their account to see if there are any current swaps active. We are getting into swap season: I know there was a fall swap that just wrapped up, there is usually at least one Halloween-themed swap, and there will definitely be some winter/holiday swaps. 6d
TieDyeDude So you'll want to strategize so yours don't get lost in the shuffle 😋 6d
BookishBrunette1 @TieDyeDude thanks! I‘ve just written a separate post and tagged them. I‘m not sure if the swap I‘m mentioning has been done recently, but I really hope people are open to doing it again. 6d

I‘m about 80 pages from the end of this book and this book hangover is already coming! I loved the review on the covered that described it as “like being wrapped up in a big gay blanket.” My birthday is on Tuesday and I‘m planning to celebrate by binge reading Somewhere Beyond the Sea. 🥰

Kenyazero Sounds like the best sort of birthday celebration! 7d
TieDyeDude Happy birthday and welcome to Litsy! 7d
BookishBrunette1 @TieDyeDude thank you! I used Litsy a lot during the pandemic and loved it. I thought I had seen something (probably gossip that I shouldn‘t have fallen for) that Litsy was going away so I begrudgingly closed my account. I‘m glad to see it‘s still here. ❤️ 6d
TieDyeDude @BookishBrunette1 Well, welcome back! The app isn't really supported anymore, but the site is still going! 6d
