The Gender Game | Bella Forrest

I was sceptical about this. First it's the name and then the comparison to The Hunger Games, which seems to be the case with every YA fiction released these days, but I was plesantly surprised. Only 28% in, so ample opportunity to change my mind. That said I would recommend bases on what I've read so far. My only wish is that the author picked a better name, maybe I'm wrong, it did catch my eye after all. #thegendergame #ya #bellaforest

Finally got around to finishing this (life kept getting in the way). As with the privious books on the series, really enjoyed this one. Why isn't this author on the Bestseller list?! Madness. Anyway strongly recommend.
P.s. Fully aware that the tagged book is the earlier one from this series. Just wanted to direct people to at least the right author, so that more people are familiarised with his work.

Finally this is out! Really enjoyed this series so far, and although I'm only a few chapters into the new book, it looks just as good. I'd also recommend the audio file that come with it, for that 'immersive reading' experience.

Finished reading this yesterday morning and now can't wait to watch the T.V Series. The story is set in dystopian future where the high infertility rate has changed American culture and society as a whole. Women are not permited to do anything but serve and breed. Those unable are exciled to clean up reladioactive waste or publicly executed. Told from the perspective of a one such 'handmaiden', the story will grip you until thr very last page.

Recently read this in the space of two days. Felt hooked from the first page and can see why it made onto the best seller list. I usually tend to aviod popular books as they rarely live up to the expectations, but this is an exeption. #thegirlonthetrain #bestseller #mistery #drama #whodoneit

Absolutely adore this! Great story with great characters. I was particularly impressed with the world building if this. The new take on magic that had me captivated from the get go. And if Neil Gaiman's recommendation is not enough, then I don't know what is. #monstress #comicbook #marjoriliu #magic #monsters #graphicnovel

Great fantasy series by an independent author. Starts with one of the main protagonist Shawna, in peril as her house is assulted by men with murder on their mind over a mysterious bracelet that once belonged to her mother. Barely surving the assult Shawna comes across Dormael, a gifted wizard who helps her make sense of what's happened. Read this knowing nothing about the book or the author and became completely hooked. #fantasy #magic #mistery
