Lovely atmosphere - a snowy country Manor, a cast of village characters, obliging Scotland Yard and an intelligent aunt / lady sleuth! Time was a little slippery jumping days sometimes weeks between sentences and the last 40 pages could have been edited a little tighter - but overall a very satisfying classic Christmas mystery.

Filled with suspense! Bailey marries a man she meets on her vacation, but when she gets to his ranch, she finds out a lot of death has been haunting his family. The local police chief blames it all on her husband, Logan. Who and what should she believe.

Another good book in the Charles Paris series, a struggling actor but a good amateur detective in his own right. An intriguing character.

3rd book finished for August.

Tove_Reads Unfamiliar with this one 6mo
Andrew65 They are quite short books and BBC Radio have done some great dramatisations of them over the years. 6mo

The mystery is pretty mediocre, but the company is pretty swell.

Did I just add the other 15 books to my shopping cart for a whopping total of $150? Yes. Yes I did. Did I then remove 5 or 6 books because I cannot financially justify that big of a purchase… also yes.😢 I will return for you my beloved book babies.

Ps. Miss Fisher is everything I wanna be when I grow up. A single woman, independently wealthy, who solves mysteries out of boredom and amusement.

I wanted to show off the gorgeous package I received from @Chrissyreadit for the #springequinoxswap. I was thinking about what I love so much about the swaps, and it came to me: it‘s the magic. The magic of getting excited about both giving and receiving. The magic within trying to find the right gifts and being so excited to open the gifts someone else so carefully chose. It‘s the best. 🧡

wanderinglynn Love that wrapping paper! 💜 And I completely agree with you. It is magical. 10mo
Chrissyreadit @wanderinglynn I totally cheated on wrapping paper. I found large dinner napkins I fell in love with and am using them wherever they fit. I May do this for everything because I always see napkins I love 😆 10mo
Chrissyreadit I love your thoughts and wording. I feel the same way 💚 10mo

3rd book finished for #20in4 and took me over the 20 hours read mark.

I find these are very enjoyable reads and the BBC Radio productions of it are even better. Love Charles and the amateur way he investigates the regular murders that happen around him.

Starting listening to the 10th book in the Charles Paris series. Always good reads, and a short book so I can finish it before the end of the month.
