Fascinating nonfiction about the lives of Duchess Jacquetta, Elizabeth Woodville, and Margaret Beauford. Each of these women, Philippa Gregory has written novels about: The Rivers Women, the White Queen, and the Red Queen, respectively.
so-soThis is the fourth and final book in the series. Wars of the Roses sure were crazy times. I've randomly known about many of the events, like the princes in the Tower, but never knew how they all tied together. There were a lot of characters with similar names like Henry or Edward and I was sometimes really confused. The book was good in places and boring in others. I'm actually really happy I persevered with it and was able to finish the series.

pickI enjoyed reading this book. I find this time period interesting. This is the second book book completed for #JoyousJanuary readathon hosted by @Andrew65. I rated this book a 4 out of 5 stars.

pickA dense, informative look at the fumbles of passing the crown of England from the 1420s to the turn of the century. I knew nothing about any of it so it was all interesting to me, but I found it odd at the end to have read 300 pages of fascinating analysis only to have Jones sum it all up as James VI was worthless and doomed the Plantagenet line and the English people to decades of bloody unrest.

As I read this book, I‘m learning a lot. Like, for instance, Henry VI was an…ineffective king, shall we say.
pickAwesome time period to dive into. Relatable characters. Very well written.
