Stitching together decades of the original X-Men adventures into one cohesive story, this project certainly sparked my interest. However, the execution leaves a stuttering narrative with no room for the events to breathe.
Possibly could have worked if expanded, but then you could always just read reprints of the original issues.

Part one of the #bookhaul from my parents‘ house. (Not pictured is LM Montgomery‘s The Story Girl) These are what I could fit in my suitcase, but there‘s another stack my mom will send to me.

We spent the weekend visiting, for the first time in four years. I spent most of my time sorting through bookshelves, trying to cull and sort and such. I found at least two of the tagged book, not together, so I rescued one copy.

The third volume of Piskor's simplified and consolidated retelling of the X-Men's convoluted and lengthy history presented in a decidedly "indie" style is, yet again, far more fresh and entertaining than it has any right to be.

(Day 23: Primary Colors) Radio Flyer, Dr. Seuss‘ Cat in the Hat, Curious George, and Berenstain Bears. All classics. ❤️ I will note that we prefer A TREASURY OF CURIOUS GEORGE (red book) over THE COMPLETE ADVENTURES OF CURIOUS GEORGE (yellow one). We found the original stories were way too long for bedtime. Each story was really enough material for three individual ones. #ColormePretty @Sweetkokoro

Some of our good friends are having a baby boy in September. We went to Build A Bear, picked out a monkey (shark shirt chosen by my fiancé ?) and wanted to pick a book about a monkey to go along. We couldn‘t choose between the two books (❤️❤️) so had to get them both for the little one! They are keeping the name a secret so we gave this monkey a creative name: Darnell Archibald ?

Lovesbooks87 Such a cute idea! 6y
wanderinglynn Super cute! And I love that the monkey is in a shark shirt! 😂 6y

Whether you're an initiated X-fan or a new-comer to Marvel's mighty Mutants or simply a fan of fabulous, quirky comics with an indie feel, X-Men: Grand Design cannot be missed.
