This didn't suck me in as fast as the first book (there's more action and less farm life). In the end, though, I loved knowing what the characters did next, and the slight quirks in the lore and science kept it intriguing. I picked this up at the end of last summer and am only just now getting to check it out more thoroughly. I saw the author show off a dwarf blueberry bush on Canadian TV and was immediately on board.
