Also from last w/e on my multiple 📕 swap raid on the way home from 🩰. I want to see the tagged book‘s play these hols but it‘s sold out already! I will try to get to Prima Facie before it sells out. The 🐧 is to add to my collection & the recipe 📖 is for my sista 🦊 & I to test out when I visit her these hols to watch my niece‘s full dress rehearsal for Frozen Disney Junior as because of my rehearsals during term I can‘t get to the show itself.

CarolynM I heard they‘ve extended the run of Spare Room. Sold out already? 3mo
LapReader Oh thanks @CarolynM I hadn‘t heard. Yay! 3mo
Jeg Hope we get the Spare Room here at some point. 3mo

Oh, this book! 💔 You will fall in love with Lenni (17) as she navigates terminal illness in the hospital. Margot (83) becomes her closest friend. Lenni is a force—bold, full of life, changing those she meets. Margot is kind, wise, and has led a fascinating life. They decide to paint 100 pictures—one for each year of their lives. As they share their stories, you‘re transported through their pasts. Highly recommend this on audio. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ❤️📚🎧

Two of the beloved OGs from my IRL bookclub past away in 2024, one after an extended illness and another suddenly. For 2025 on their birth months, we are discussing a book each nominated in year‘s past but ultimately not selected for discussion. This was Patty‘s book. A reread for me but all the more beautiful the 2nd time around knowing how often she spoke about and loved this story.

This was on a list of books that feel like a hug and it really is the loveliest story of friendship and found families and finding joy in all your moments. All the stars ⭐️

Friday night and I‘m enjoying my favourite reading spot one last time. Tomorrow we get the tree 🌲 and it sits right here until Epiphany. So for now, I‘m just chilling in my favourite indoor reading spot ( besides my bed) with my favourite cocktail ( French blonde ) and the sweetest book that I know will break my heart

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is admittedly the kind of story I can tend to avoid if left to my own devices…. But I‘m glad it was a pick for my work book club. It is, of course, emotional and moving, but also full of love, light, and life. Besides Lenni‘s friendship with Margot, I adored her relationship with Father Arthur. May our loved ones‘ stories live on.🎧

Fourth in my #24in2024, and for my irl book club, which I had to miss for a work trip. It‘s a tear-jerker and I usually don‘t like having my emotions manipulated. But the stories were so engaging and I was rooting for them both to make it to their 100th, so I didn‘t feel manipulated. I‘m just sorry I missed out on the discussion.
