I'm checking out this book that my best friend gave my eldest little reader for his birthday, while I hang out with my youngest little reader. I've been a fan of xkcd for 10 or 11 years, so I'm delighted by this book and I can't wait to read it with my kids. Munroe uses only the thousand most common words to provide simple explanations for how things work. #raisingreaders #scienceisfun

Used the PRIMEBOOKS17 code to pre-order this on Amazon. Sam Kean is almost as amazing as Mary Roach. Due to massive vet bills, I haven't bought any new books in over a month. I deserve just one, don't I? #tbr #scienceisfun

Mimi28 Massive vet bills? Aaaawwww those animals are so lucky to have you! You deserve a lot more than just one but I'm glad you treated yourself ❤️❤️❤️ 7y

Ella Morton of Atlas Obscura fame at the Adult Education panel. To the left is Doug Harris, who co-workers a children's book with his daughter. To the right is Theo Gray who writes science books (Elements, Molecules, and Reactions). #BookCon #ScienceIsFun
