pickThis fit the bill for a holiday read that wasn‘t a sappy romance. A young girl and her family fall on hard times and have to move into a humble trailer/modular home community. The girl meets a much older neighbor; they quickly become BFFs. Yes, it‘s a sappy tearjerker that will play your emotions. It‘s heavily grounded in Christianity, but I think the values and message can connect with anyone. At least I was okay with it and I‘m an atheist!🤗 4/5
