This was good. The initial crash brought me in and although the memories initially weren‘t as interesting, I found it picked up a bit when Georgie got married, so I liked the second half of the story better. I also liked the comparisons to “Lilibet‘s” (Queen Elizabeth‘s) life and the little royal tidbits brought in that way. Cont in comments...

LibraryCin I thought it was amusing that all the women in Georgie‘s family had names that shortened into “male” names: Phil, Fred (she had an Aunt and Uncle Fred when her Aunt Fred married a Fred), Grand Dan… (ok, not quite all, but most) 6mo

Damn — i am in my feels. I lived in England for a while and feel sadness about this news. She wasn‘t perfect (maybe far from it), but she was - BOSS till the end. I wish I could go for the funeral but I will Be content to live stream it. Share some of your favorite books about the Queen!! I need to add to my stack #queen #queenelizabeth #thecrown

KristiAhlers I too lived in England years ago and had an opportunity to see her (granted from a huge distance but still) and couldn‘t believe I had that chance to see her. She wasn‘t perfect because no one is but she was the epitome of strength! 7mo
TheKidUpstairs Not at all a true story, but I loved reading Alan Bennett's The Uncommon Reader 7mo

In light of the health situation of Queen Elizabeth, I recalled this moment from about 20 years ago in Vancouver @ a pre-season game about 20 years ago. #queenelizabeth

KristiAhlers I know. I‘m so sad about this. She‘s just one of those humans you think will always be part of your fabric and lexicon. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 🇬🇧 7mo

Jane Bee is a housemaid and part of the staff who travel with the Queen. It is the Christmas holiday and the Queen is residing at Sandringham Hall when a body is found at a post shooting luncheon. A body dressed as the Queen. Is it the animal rights activists or something else? Jane is asked to do some investigating that the Queen would not be able to do unnoticed. Really well written mystery. Lots of fun! September #doublespin book.

MrsK Read this when it first came out ❤️. Have you tried the Father Christmas series? 7mo
myellenbee #MrsKinvestigates I have not read the Father Christmas books, but I like her writing and will add them to my tbr. 7mo

It just wasn‘t what I wanted, which was a story where the Queen escapades and thoughts were the central focus. Instead, this was primarily about the supporting characters and their efforts to find her. Just not my cup of tea…

I did enjoy this story quite a bit, I liked the mix of fact and fiction. Loving watching The Crown, this is a natural reading pick. I am not crazy about the audio. Usually I LOVE a British accented narrator but in this case I could zone right out and lose track of the story so easily. I even sped it up but still just wanted to close my eyes. If you have trouble sleeping maybe? 🤣🤣
