Fr3NcHtOaSt @Tianarose well I‘ll definitely check that out may be a while though if I‘m gonna read all 12 novels of Poldark. Might need a break of something else after I finish Poldark before I start outlander. 2y

I‘m in love with the show Poldark (Dr. Enys anyone? 😍) and read the first book in the series shortly after finishing the show. Book 2 is just as good, if not better. I love Demelza and I must say, Ross does not deserve her! The TV show is a fairly faithful adaptation (minus the last season) and I felt like I was visiting old friends. I‘m really looking forward to book 3! 4⭐️

CampbellTaraL Oooh, good to hear. I tried to read book 1 awhile ago but was put off by the portrayal of women in that time period. It was representative of the actual beliefs of the times, I think I just wasn't in the headspace to deal with it. Does this aspect get better/calm down after the first few chapters? I loved the show and really wanted to dive into the books. 3y

White Cliffs of Dover...: A Story of Irish Immigrants | James E. Woolam

Yesterday we went on this beautiful hike along the White Cliffs of Dover, and suddenly up on the cliffs this secondhand bookstore shows up. So sweet.

Had to share the scenery, so pittoresque, like taken out of a Jane Austen novel. Felt like I was part of the #Poldark series 😅😍

I love this show; sad it‘s the last season. The stakes are high and the characters make decisions that go from bad to worse. There‘s a light at the end of the tunnel; love ❤️

Took a long lunch so I could finish and be able to donate to the library when in town tomorrow. A friend gave me the complete series. I am determined to get them off my shelves by the end of the year. It really is just one very long soap opera. I'm finally past where the show is. Makes for more interesting reading. Last few pages were particularly enthralling.
