Oh wow, it was even more complicated than Parkinson‘s disease.

GingerAntics @jenniferajanes it‘s even more complicated than Parkinson‘s. He really wasn‘t in his right mind. Poor guy. His third wife really cut him off from a lot of his family and friends, though, too, so none of the, had a clue he‘d been diagnosed with Parkinson‘s until after his death. I am not a fan of his third wife after reading this. 5y
jenreads7 @GingerAntics That‘s terrible. Every time I see something that reminds me of him, I grieve all over again. I‘m sure many people do. 5y
GingerAntics @jenniferajanes I sure do. He was such a ray of sunshine. It‘s kind of sad he never saw that about himself, but that‘s also part of what made him so very lovable. 5y

jenreads7 @GingerAntics Exactly. 🥰 5y
Freespirit I actually didn‘t realise he‘d been diagnosed with Lewy body dementia. 5y
GingerAntics @Freespirit most people aren‘t. There were conspiracy theories when he died, of course. Then the coroner‘s report came out a few months later. It was only diagnosed after his death and it didn‘t really make headlines. It wasn‘t Parkinson‘s at all. It was actually worse because it increased the risk for suicide in a way Parkinson‘s did/does not. (edited) 5y

Pickpick

Alexander Dreier's verse is alive with surprising juxtapositions, unexpected metaphors, and a depth that lends meaning and inspiration to his dexterous word play. He is a remarkable poet, and it is beautiful to read about how he has chosen to work with his illness to plumb its depths for whatever gifts it can yield, poetic and otherwise. #poetry #illness #LewyBodyDisease #medicine #holisticmedicine

tracyrowanreads My mother had that. It's horrible. 7y
Louise @tracyrowanreads I'm sorry to hear that. It must be terribly difficult to watch this disease progress in someone you love. 💜 7y
tracyrowanreads @Louise It's unimaginable, the more so since 20 years ago very few people knew what it was, even doctors. 7y
Louise @tracyrowanreads Heartbreaking. What a road to have to travel. 💔 (edited) 7y
