Puller‘s brother has escaped a high military prison and Puller is assigned to find him & bring him in. His search brings him into an espionage ring and the truth that a lot more is happening. Lots of action and Puller may stumble onto the love of his life

I'm staying with dad while mom is at my brother's in Indianapolis. Last time I stayed with him, I got him started on audiobooks. Now he reads at least 4 or 5 books a week.

I'm sitting here in mom's chair, happily reading my book and I hear him laugh. The David Baldacci mystery/thriller must have had a good bit of humor.

If you've ever heard my dad's genuine laugh, you'd know why I cherish that sound. I admire him for so many things. >>

DebbieGrillo He taught me to think critically, to let the little things go, and the value hard work. And, he still has things to teach.

Today I'm learning from him how to grow old gracefully. It's true that he can't do what he one was able to do. He actually misses working. He was never a big social butterfly, but he to say he doesn't get out much anymore is an understatement. He's losing his sight and can't see the television very well. >>

DebbieGrillo He can't folliw new shows with new characters. Many others might wallow in what they can't do, but not him.

Just being with my dad relaxes me. He has the best laugh, the best attitude, and the best stories. Once in a while he even tells one I've never heard before.

My sabbatical this semester is not turning out the way I had planned, but that's okay. I'm so grateful to have this time to spend with my family.

Beginning a new story via Audible - I enjoyed this author‘s character Amos Decker so starting a different series with the main character a Veteran... sounds like a promising series. 😊

zguta Puller is a great character, perfectly disciplined, emotionally an introvert, and like many good guys, takes the blame for every little thing that goes wrong. He has big shoulders, the perfect American hero. His sharp mind picks up clues and puts the pieces together, while in a small town investigating multi murders. The side kick, the local heroine cop, works well with Puller to find the real crime. 3y

Book 3 in the John Puller series and I loved it 😍 John Puller is fast becoming one of my favourites, reminds me of Jack Reacher in the early days. A really good read!

A real thriller.

No Man's Land | David Baldacci

“He told me that war needed to be fought by real men. Real men had to bleed and die. Only then would we not want to fight wars. If we could create robots to do our fighting, he thought, we‘d be at war all the time.”

Perfectly adequate thriller. Hyper masculine lead (no surprise there) paired with prescriber female cop (also no surprise). Set in West Virginia. You know what you're gonna get with this kind of book so if you're in that kind of mood, go for it.

Book 2 in the John Puller series and I loved it! He is developing into one of my favs 😍
Reading it alongside the latest Reacher book was abit confusing though as they're quite similar 🤣
