pickMy first #galleybeggarpress book and it was a good one!
Clammer is a YA writer and this is his first adult novel. It follows a day in the life of Joseph, who is a plumber. It‘s an unusual style, with an omniscient narrator. The book starts in a kind of Everyman suburbia with some very detailed, specific descriptions but soon grows to encompass some big themes such as mental illness and religion.
And my favourite bookmark ever!
Very exciting #bookmail today! @Moray_Reads posted a little while ago about Galley Beggar Press and I signed up to their buddy subscription. I didn‘t expect to receive *two* books on the same day!
Both sound really intriguing and I loved Ellman‘s Ducks, Newburyport so very much looking forward to these.
