#Naturalitsy #MidwinterSolace #Hygge

Tonight‘s #7DayHyggeChallenge prompt is “Create something. You could bake cookies, write a poem, sketch, or knit.” After a long day, I wasn‘t feeling that creative so I ended up “prepping” to be creative. I took apart my advent calendar & made circles from the flaps covering the 12 days of stickers for future paper crafts as I liked the patterns & went through this creativity book I got from Book Outlet.

TheBookHippie Oh that looks like so much fun! 4mo

The Buddhists have a good piece of advice [...]: “Act always as if the future of the universe depended on what you did, while laughing at yourself for thinking that whatever you do makes any difference.“

4/5⭐ A helpful read regarding the psychology of happiness in terms of how we choose to spend our time, though I would have liked more practical discussion. Seems to be a shorter, more layman's edition of the original Flow book. Slight tinge of privileged perspective and questionable generalizations on topics outside of psychology (e.g. religion). #bookspinbingo

This is a wonderful book on how having less can be freeing and can help us let go. The chapters focus on living with less stuff, less information, less remembering, having less control, less doing, less living large, and having less judgment on ourselves. It truly is a wonderful minimalistic read and offers insight on the beauty of ‘less is more‘.

I have at last returned and spent 14 Canadian dollars on five books including the delightful one I have tagged. Fully vaxxed and ready to party.

My sister sent me this book out of the blue. It‘s the kind of book I‘d love to have but would never get so it was really quite special to sit and peruse it tonight. What a lovely lovey thing to receive when life feels so out of control. ❤️

Why does a book about “living with less” have so many “goodies” included? Otherwise, good insights & lots of things to think about.

I‘ve been slacking a bit in my goals - I haven‘t been consistent in working out or reading every day. I‘m not going to beat myself up over it, though - my true goal was to create the habits of working out and reading for enjoyment on a regular basis, which I am doing. I was just using the daily goal as a motivator. So far I‘ve finished 5 books in 2021, & I plan on getting through maybe even one more today with the snow day!
