This is a hard post to write. But this is a safe environment, so I'm doing it here first. My doctors have confirmed a long-suspected diagnosis of fibromyalgia. It's been a difficult and painful path to get here; it's a daunting road to find myself on. And this week has taught me that just because you have a name for something doesn't mean it's not going to attempt to take the rug out from under you. But. Nevertheless. Onward.

SusanInTiburon My mom and my husband have the same diagnosis. It's a tough one, but it really helps to know what it is in order to figure out what will work for you. They both have bad days, but they are few and far between now that they know what to do and what not to do. I wish you healing, strength, and happiness. 7y

KCorter How bittersweet. A diagnosis can give you a sense of empowerment though. There seem to be quite a few of us on Litsy with fibromyalgia, so I hope you continue feeling safe enough to share your frustrations and hopefully your victories as well! 7y

This just came in at my college library. I picked it up because it's a nonfiction work that touches on life with fibromyalgia, which I have. I've already read it once (it took less than two hours), and I'm going to read it a second time before assembling my thoughts. It has some sentences that really hit home, which I needed right now.
