I'm finally less angry and sad after the terrible events of yesterday. Still scared and worried (and okay, angry and sad are still there too), but I'm working on turning it around in my head. I've done a decent bit of book shopping (more to come today), and sleep isn't a friend of mine lately, but this has lit a fire in me. It's a fire that was always there but I was too afraid to say anything for fear of offending anyone. Not anymore. 👇🏽
LauraBrook One of my book orders yesterday included several books that I've wanted to read but felt too emotionally raw to handle. They were for "later", when I could better process the emotional hurts that have happened the last few years. But now? Not so much. I'm looking forward to educating myself over and over and over again about all of the things I thought I couldn't handle. Because I, and we, have to handle this terrifying result. ?? 7y

LauraBrook And as much as it sounds nice to stay curled into my comfort zone forever, I am ready & willing to fight against intolerance and hate, and to help educate others, not only on facts, but on how to have an intelligent discussion with someone of a differing opinion without resorting to threats, dismissal, or violence. Love is love is love & I'm trying my hardest to ❤️everyone now. It will get easier, it always does. But now a 🔥 is lit, & I'm ready. 7y

BookishFeminist I'm right there with you. Going off 2 hours of sleep for the second night in a row. Yesterday I mourned but today I am raising hell. Some folks in my life are not going to be very happy with me and I don't care. 🔥🔥🔥 Litsy's all good though. So grateful for this community. LauraBrook @Susannah Absolutely! It's...a lot of books, mostly comfort reading. But I'll pull my #overthis books together and get those in one photo. Today most of my online orders came in, plus some used stuff I bought last week, and the 4 bags I've brought home from Half Price in the last 2 days... yikes. I owe my mail lady some chocolate or Icy Hot or something. 😳😉 7y
