Kill Me If You Can | James Patterson, Marshall Karp
Pickpick

Great read! If you're into the kind of books that make you feel like you're in a criminal minds episode- this is for you!

I finished this all in one day—such fun! The main character, Hero, is trying to settle into her new house and blend in at her new school, when she finds out about a local/historical mystery she sets out to solve. There‘s a bit of mystery, a bit of Shakespeare, a bit of history, some wonderful characters along the way, and a satisfying conclusion to it all. Really enjoyed this one.

As much as I‘m wanting to read about the #IvoryCoast for #readingAfrica, this ebook is just not working for me right now. It‘s gruesome, and it‘s just not compelling at 24% into it. I have some other books on my tbr for this country so I‘ll check them out. If they‘re not better (unlikely) I‘ll come back to this one. But for now, I‘d rather read something else.

I definitely have experienced this when driving through storms in Texas. Pretty accurate: marveling at the insanity…when you know if the windshield wipers are going that speed, you can‘t see a darned thing.

GingerAntics This reminds me of the time a hurricane came up from the gulf and was still a category 1 hurricane when it got to Dallas… and driving home to Minnesota from Dallas. Every time we made that drive, there was a bloody storm in Kansas. We sat on the side of the road while a tornado went right past us once. Every bloody time. 4mo

I really enjoyed this crime thriller set in Los Angeles. Happy Doll is a private detective, & immediately sympathetic with his funny name & love of his pet dog but difficulty having close relationships with people. Fast paced, tightly written with a strong sense of place & characters. Feels like an old Hollywood noir film.

Cathythoughts Nice review.. I‘m tempted 👍🏻❤️ 6mo
