#serieslove2023 Bosch ditches the PI gig & goes back to LAPD.Chief Irving “welcomes “ him back calling him a retread & saying he‘s watching for the screw up. Bosch has one of the hardest tasks , closing very old cases. The murder of a teen , decades old . I love Bosch , he and the city of L.A.are great characters.Been a long time since I read 2 in a row from a continuing series.
Why Littens don‘t exactly hate jury duty !😀📚
Bosch & a beer .Happy Friday night !

My son got me this book for Christmas (he knows me so well!) and I read it right away. As usual, Harry Bosch is focused on solving cold cases and finding justice for the dead, this time as a volunteer at the newly reformed Open-Unsolved Unit headed by Renee Ballard. But time is taking its toll on him and it feels increasingly urgent that he find one last murder suspect, no matter what the cost. Another great entry in an exceptional series.
I'm not sure if Connelly's storylines hold up well when distilled into vignettes like these. I think the short length of these stories accentuates the weaknesses in Connelly's novels and makes the things that are strengths in the novels, like the character development, feel trite and calculated. Still, they do fill in some blanks from the novels.
I realized two things listening to this audiobook. One, Titus Welliver seems to turn pages more loudly than other narrators, and two, I read some of the later books first then started from the beginning and now that I'm catching up I think that things are being repeated from previous novels when in reality, they haven't yet happened. I would be a crummy time traveler; I can barely keep track of the present. But this was a fine Bosch installment.
There‘s a new #Star in the sky, with the new Michael Connelly book that was published in early November. Definitely a case of follow that star!
