Picking up The Tall Girl from college means a visit to Riverby Books. Two more Europa Edition books for me, plus the lovely My Ideal Bookshelf. Even with the traffic being horrendous on 95 already, TTG + books = a great day. ❤️❤️❤️

With everything that was happening in the world, all Sal could do was obsess about a stupid man. ‘Forget him,‘ I said. I wish she had. Or I wish I had taken her more seriously. But I took over organising the airport protest, and I was so busy co-ordinating that, and helping set up the Recycle Fashion shows, I didn‘t even stop to think. It‘s one of the things I regret most in my whole life.

This isn't going to end well, then, is it...

Pickpick

On a warm summer night, Jack, Joy and Merry are left in the car. Their mother is going to find a phone along the road to call for help. But their mother never returns. Then 3 yrs pass, and we get to see how the siblings life have changed.

This book really hooked me and kept me reading. I actually read most of it today. The twists and turns just keep on coming and I never knew where Bauer would take the story.

The chowder's simmering nicely for a few minutes so I'm making a start on my next library book club read.

"I love the feel of a book. I love the touch and smell and sound of the pages. I love the handling. A book is a sensual thing. You sit curled in a chair with it or you take it to bed and it's, well, enveloping. You either get it or you don't."

I feel seen! I totally am obsessed with the handling of books! I'm sure you littens feel the same way! ??? Also this book has a slow pace but it's oddly enveloping and oddly beautiful. I love it so far.

Cathythoughts I really enjoyed this too. We read it for bookclub recently 👍🏻♥️ 2mo
