pickI LOVE THIS BOOK! I‘m going to call this my favorite book of the year and I read it in January. Anne Tyler is a master and this is my favorite of hers that I‘ve read so far. I can‘t speak to plot or characters or anything else, because I love it so much and nothing I‘ve tried to come up with has done it justice. Plus, I‘ve discussed it to death IRL. Dysfunctional family vibes anyone?? Totally my jam. Continued ⬇️

This is one of my favorites of hers, but I also loved The Accidental Tourist, A Spool of Blue Thread, Breathing Lessons, Clock Dance, Saint Maybe, Ladder of Years and French Braid. I have Digging to America and Vinegar Girl waiting on my shelves. 1y

If you all read it and hate it, don‘t hold it against me 😆 One of my irl reader friends DID NOT care for it, so be warned…it may be a love or hate type of read! 1y

UwannaPublishme Totally agree!!!🙌🏻 LOVE Anne Tyler! I spent the last 2 years on a quest to read ALL her books…and I‘m down to her 2nd children‘s book. I have them all and even the TV movie adaptations. And I‘d be happy to share any with you. Hard to pick a favorite, but Ladder of Years, Spool of Blue Thread and later ones like French Braid are at the top of the list. If you start an Anne Tyler Fan Club, I‘m definitely in! 1y

Centique I remember loving Accidental Tourist years ago and then I rediscovered her last year when I read Back When We Were Grownups. There‘s a gentle depth to that book. I definitely want to read all her backlist 🙌 1y
