The Turtle House: A Novel | Amanda Churchill
post image

I don't normally share personal photos on here, but at our recent library fundraiser, I got to meet author Amanda Churchill. She was so friendly and gave a great talk about her debut novel, The Turtle House. This isn't normally the type of book I read, but I really enjoyed it, and after listening to her talk about it, I like it even more now. 💚🐢

BarbaraBB That is so nice! 2d
DogMomIrene Sweet! There‘s something about hearing an author wax on about their creation that can really connect with me. Such a great way to expand reading choices👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 2d

Pickpick

Loved this read. A grandmother who was a wartime Japanese bride who had to move to Texas. A granddaughter who wants to be an architect but who allows a person to squash her dreams. What a story! People be who you are and live your lives!:)

Catching up for April and May.

For April, my favourite was Cutting for Stone. It was a reread for me, as I had read it a number of years ago and just loved the book. It is definitely a favourite read for April.

May was a little disappointing, as I only got The Turtle House completed. I really enjoyed that book as well. I haven't posted that review yet, but I will be doing catch up on book reviews this coming week.

Bailedbailed

The premise of this one seemed interesting, but at the 10% mark it‘s just not grabbing me at all. I don‘t know if it‘s me, the book, or the timing, so don‘t let me dissuade you.

Mehso-so

This was not what I expected at all… it sounded super interesting and written by Moyes, got to be a home run right?? Nope… I disliked 90% of this book, I did, however, love the ending!
