Look what I‘ve found for the grandbaby today! And as it happens, the skies have turned dark and the night is growing stormy as I‘m typing, but you‘ll have to take my word for it because my camera can‘t take a decent photo of a sky at dusk...

1. The Rider on the White Horse by Theodor Storm 🌊
2. Tagged. It features one of my fave weather/nature events to read about - storm tides. As I'm vacationing at the North Sea Coast atm, there are so many stories to listen to...
3. Rainy and stormy! So cozy to sit inside and read!

Beautiful book that describes a hurricane in terms and illustrations a kid could understand without being too frightening. I like the way everyone works together to clean up, the only thing missing is a hurricane party where they eat all their freezer food after the power goes out. I love this book, but I don't think my library needs it as much as libraries in the southern 🇺🇲 might. ⬇️
This is the first picture book I have read on climate change (though I‘m guessing it won‘t be the last). The text uses a lot of poetic repetition of the line “as it/they always do” suggesting kids can find a comforting pattern even in the scary changing world. For scientifically minded kids there‘s a great afterward going into detail on each weather phenomena described, but I‘d skip this with more timid kids as this section is a bit frightening.
Probably my last read before vacations are over! #currentlyreading #Bangladesh #storm
Ready for a new month of new books! Although I‘ve noticed that several of the print books I own that are on this month are automatically books I keep so unlikely this month will greatly affect my physical hoard but 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️

This story is sweet and rhythmic. The illustrations are stunning. I really loved this picture book.
