Four female cousins and their relatives endure the Year of Four Emperors.

Thrills and spills as the four cousins navigate personal and political turmoil during this tumultuous year. Absolutely unputdownable.

Kate Quinn is becoming one of my all-time favorite historical fiction novelists. This one is about 4 cousins who try to stay out of the men fighting for their chance to be the next Caesar. Although they do realize they have to fight in their own unique way to save those they love. #Italy #Jubilee #FoodandLit #letterq #AtoZLitsy @Texreader @Catsandbooks

I want to save a lot of you a lot of trouble reading this book:

Attila and the Empire have numerous talks, a few battles, a few demands for wives and tribute, a lot of fighting with their neighbors (the Goths and the Vandals)—that had it all not happened, Rome wouldn‘t have “fell” when it did. Well, ok. If a butterfly flaps its wings…

Probably well written and researched but boring. Unless you are really into a lot of ancient bureaucratic ⬇️

Texreader falderal, then skip this one. #Italy #Jubilee 2mo

I know I've been really quiet on here for a couple of months. Just trying to decide which social media bookish sites/apps I want to keep.

I do love the monthly challenges Litsy has so I'll be around.

@PuddleJumper rolled the dice and I have my June #Roll100 titles. “Eagle in the Snow“ is my pick. Although, Kindle will be fairly easy to knock out!

April wrap-up: I finished two books for March #foodandlit #Ireland, then read four books for April #Rwanda (still working on my fifth). I read one book for #authoramonth Kate Quinn (still reading two more), and one book I finished from last month‘s author Leigh Bardugo. And I read Keeping House as an impulse read.

I tagged my favorite book of the month, but it was a close call.

Catsandbooks Wonderful! 🎉 👏🏼 3mo
