Life is so busy with jobs and kids and dogs and commitments. I feel like there‘s never enough time to read. Anyone else wondering how the heck Obama not only squeezed in reading time, but can put together an annual book list? Love that man! #obama2017list #obamatoldmetoreadit

radhikeey He's one unbelievably amazing man! 6y
InBooksILive You're preaching to the choir here! Lol the only time I have to read lately is at night when everyone's asleep! That's the only time I don't hear "mom!" 200x a minute haha 6y
JoScho Well Obama is awesome and rich so he probably doesn‘t have to do the daily chores we normal people do 😂 6y

Reading this Natl Book Award winner made me sad, but I really enjoyed it. I normally don't love books that get praised for lovely writing -- I need plot! This one did have beautiful words (even about tough topics) but there was character development. Some of the characters made choices I didn't like much but I loved JoJo. What an amazing brother he was to Kayla. This was on President Obama's list of favorites from 2017. #Obama2017List

First book of the snow day is done! (I was nearly done already). I enjoyed this connected collection of short stories very much, even though I haven‘t yet read My Name is Lucy Barton. It provides a look at people‘s inner lives, their feelings, and secrets. Glad I listened to this one. The narrator was great. #Obama2017list #MMDchallenge

Dying: A Memoir | Cory Taylor

Dying isn't a book about dying; it doesn't spend pages going to doctors appointments. Rather it is the memoir of a dying woman, her thoughts as she knows her time is short. Some of it is about her childhood, her rather difficult family relationships and how those shape her feelings. She wrote this because most people don't feel comfortable considering the end of life, and she wanted that to change. #Obama2017list #nonfiction2018 #PopSugar2018

I decided to read all the books on President Obama's best of 2017 list, so this is my new audiobook. (I've read 3 from his list already). I never read My Name is Lucy Barton but I heard that doesn't affect enjoyment of this story collection. #Obama2017List #audiobooks

MallenNC @BethFishReads I trust you and Obama on this! 6y
BethFishReads @MallenNC I should frame that comment. The only time our names will ever appear in the same sentence. 😍 6y

I love reading lists, and am so glad President Obama decided to share his from 2017. (I miss him!) We both put Evicted on our best of lists, so I'm feeling pretty smart. I decided to post this so I can refer back to it again later. I already read Exit West and A Gentleman in Moscow, plus a few of these are already on my TBR. #TBR #Bestof2017 #Obama2017List

MallenNC @Riveted_Reader_Melissa I only read it in November of this year. I'm going to pretend it was because I was just as busy as President Obama until then. 6y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @MallenNC Maybe you were reading it at the same time as Obama! 👍 6y
MallenNC @Riveted_Reader_Melissa I like that idea. 6y
