Review: This story is about a little girl named Mei Li who attend New Year‘s Fair with her brother San Yu. . After the exciting adventures at the fair, Mei Li returns home only to greet the Kitchen God. The Kitchen God recognizes that Mei Li is a princess and tells her that her home is her kingdom and it is filled with loyal subjects. This story is a great read to promote girl power.
Great children‘s book about 2 Jewish holidays! On page 28 there‘s a honey cake recipe.
#lovenotes or more known as #loveletters are very popular during Chinese New Year. These romantic pastries were used by lovebirds to communicate in olden times. "The edible nature of the messages ensured the absence of proof and consumption of the heartfelt message was also seen as a sign that the lover‘s words had been taken to heart."
