I really wanted to love this book, but despite the topic being of interest, I really disliked the main character and that kind of ruined it for me. It‘s one thing to portray a complicated female character, but Lillian is so horrible and insensitive to the people around her that nothing about the trauma she‘s experienced can excuse her behavior (which she only recognizes as problematic in the last 20% of the book).

1. My husband watches a lot of sports, so I watch a lot of sports. Luckily, I enjoy watching sports, especially baseball. ⚾️
2. The tagged book features a Russian hockey player in a marriage of convenience. Or is it? 😏

Before I say anything else I have to say I‘m a HUGE Dolly Parton fan. Her music her philanthropy her generosity her soul. And the 150 million books she has donated worldwide. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️That said this book is not good. I‘m gobsmacked at how poor this is. Sorry Dolly. I still love your music

I wanted to like this more than I actually did. There just felt like something was missing to make the whole thing come together. It also seemed like there were moments when nothing was happening. I did enjoy the way it was narrated with all the different voices for different characters, I don't think I've ever listened to an audiobook like that before.

DO VLAD AND ELENA KNOW I ADORE THEM??? Loved the modern "marriage of convenience," loved their dynamic, loved the drama at the end. A top-tier series installment! #romcom #contemporaryromance

Kind of a hard read, as we see child neglect and willful ignoring of special needs, but well done. Lou is a gifted singer, but her mom forces her into performance situations that range from uncomfortable to traumatic. When Lou is removed by CPS she starts to unravel the mystery of those special needs (she has SPD) and get the resources she needs. Will her new life work out? Will her mom step up and be the grown-up for a change? Read it to see.

Vlad is my favorite character so I‘m glad he got his own book.

My mom wanted to walk around Goodwill today, and I got a really good $8 haul! Four like-new hardbacks, including Fiona Barton, Jennifer Weiner, Allen Eskins, and DOLLY PARTON (in TN?! That's a FIND). Anywho, I was excited 😬
