#BookHaul Part 1 😊 Took four books to the charity bookstall, came back with seven! Oops 😬
But, who in their right mind, decided to give away a four-volume box set of illustrated books about the Beatles' solo careers? 🤷🏻‍♂️
Whoever it was, I thank them for their incomprehensible decision, as I now own it! 🤓

AmyG Wow! That‘s amazing. 1w
TrishB Hubby would have loved that! Great find. 1w
Bookwomble @TrishB Then I can cross him off my list of people not to trust with important decisions, as he obviously wouldn't have let this go! 😄 1w
Bookwomble @The_Book_Ninja Ooh, those are good playlists! Thanks 😊 1w

🎵 With a Little Help from My Friends
👨‍🎤 Joe Cocker
💿 With a Little Help from My Friends
📽️ https://youtu.be/rUVEFkjqiEE?si=EwZr4UI8UeG8-5-d

I've loved Joe's cover of this Beatles' song for years, but hadn't listened to the full album until this week, & it's magical! Joe covers a couple of Dylan songs, too, to which he does justice, but WALHFMF is definitely the standout track.
YT vid is his Woodstock performance🌻

TieDyeDude Thanks for sharing! I can't help but think of John Belushi's impersonation, but Cocker was such a powerful singer. I didn't realize how prolific he was in his later years. I feel a deep-dive coming on 😋 1mo
Bookwomble @TieDyeDude His version of "Please Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" on this album is fantastic. Apart from his big hits and the odd TV appearance I don't know his music as well as I think I'd like to. Another one to be on the watch for while I'm rummaging through the second-hand music bins ? 1mo
AmyG I just heard this yesterday. He was so good. 1mo
Bookwomble @AmyG He's fantastic, isn't he 😊 4w
AmyG I swear, though, every time I hear him I think of John Belushi singing with him. Brilliant. (edited) 4w

I‘ve been obsessed with this Queen song, which I discovered last week. Brian May sounds amazing on lead locals.

As a fan for nearly 30 years, this one has been on my radar for a long time. I couldn't pass up this British edition for only $1.99 at a local media store!

"In my eyes
Indisposed
In disguises no one knows
Hides the face
Lies the snake
And the sun in my disgrace
Boiling heat
Summer stench
Neath the black, the sky looks dead
Call my name
Through the cream
And I'll hear you scream again

Black hole sun
Won't you come
And wash away the rain?
Black hole sun
Won't you come"

Bookwomble @lil1inblue It's a great track, isn't it? 😊 7mo
TieDyeDude I listened to a lot of classic rock and country music growing up. This is one of the first rock/alt rock songs that I remember really catching my ear. 7mo

Last year I did the 100 New-To-Me albums challenge. I listened to 100 albums I'd never heard before. You can see them listed in the link below. I'm doing the challenge again this year - any recommendations for albums to check out?

TieDyeDude Aww, #41 Meiko! I've been following her for years, though she hasn't been doing much since becoming a mom.
A couple suggestions I haven't posted about for #Tuesdaytunes:
The Sheepdogs - The Sheepdogs
The Soundtrack of Our Lives - Behind the Music
Free Energy - Love Sign
Alice Merton - S.I.D.E.S.

Kerrbearlib @Deblovestoread I‘m listening to No Mermaid now. I‘m three tracks in and already love it! It‘s like a little piece of the 90s I didn‘t know existed ♥️. I‘ll be writing about in soon on Medium, would you like me to give you a shoutout in the article? 7mo
Deblovestoread Not necessary. My brother introduced me to her years ago. I so glad you love it, too! 💙 7mo

Pickpick

The drama, the talent, and the music still have an impact today. Rumors wasn't just an album, it was a once in a generation piece of art. Christine McVie and Fleetwood Mac created music inspired by their joys and pain, creating a pantheon of hits over the decades. Very few groups manage this kind of longevity, and Christine was the one who kept it all together. Can you imagine a world without songs like "Don't Stop" or "You Make Loving Fun"?
