#MayMontage Day 14: Perfect for #MothersDay, this book is spoken through a child‘s voice describing a mother who happens to be larger than life. The child‘s gaze towards her mother is adoring and joyful with an intimacy that is well-defined and embodied with grace. I love how contemporary the sound of this narrative is: it jives with a beat, a stomp, a rhythm of its own that is distinctive and true. My review: https://wp.me/pDlzr-oBE

A mother wants her child always to have a good life, This book tells the story of not only one character but the lives of the main character's daughter, then which turns into the main character and then continues the pattern down. So far we have been following the character Ally Keller in Berlin in 1931, she has been facing lots of repercussions due to the fact she fell in love with a black musician and at that time it caused lots of-

rosa.kim controversy because there was lots of racism back then. We also see how hard it was on Ally's daughter Lilith being a mixed baby. If you like books that show the more human side of wars (as this book is placed back when there were many wars) I would recommend this book, mainly because you get to see so many different characters' points of view throughout the book. the point of view of this story is in the third person, for each character. i think- 2mo
rosa.kim it was a good point of view to use in this story because we switch characters too often to have it be in any other point of view. The author uses the characters' names to make it clear that we aren't characters but just a reader that can cross into their world. 2mo
MissYaremcio Oh this looks awesome! Thanks Rosa! 6/6 2mo

This story of four generations of women was waaaaaaay too choppy to be engrossing or emotionally resonant

I picked up this book because it was set in the upper part of Michigan and I am from Michigan so I was intrigued. This book is about a single mom who is just trying to do what is best for her daughter so when she is told that the house they are renting is being turned into a vacation rental she tries everything she can to find somewhere to live without changing her daughters whole world.

I really enjoyed the narration of this book. I like how it was written and I really like the main character and her daughter. I understand some people have pride and don‘t like to take the help when it is needed but I am not one of those people. I would have taken help from
Everyone who offered it. Especially if I have a child to look after. Overall I did like the book and I gave it a B+
