I found this one enjoyable, but I did guess what was going on. But I do really love me a medical thriller! 🩺
I can forgive an easy plot for this very reason..🤪

Thank you @The.Great.Catsby for the #NewYearWhoDis recommendation 👌🏻😷💛👍🏻

Plus I also get to cross it off for #MMDReadingChallenge
Yay! X2 celebrations!!! 🎉 🎉

marleed Great backdrop! 5d

The torture of a book you worked so hard to read and to stay with only to have a cliffhanger...
..right.in.the.very.last.sentence!!!

I thought it was going to finish! Aaaaaaah 😫💦

On the good side though I got to cross off a slot each for #ReadingEurope2020 and #MMDReadingChallenge 👍🏻

CarolynM I liked this more than you, I think, but not as much as most people seem to. Even the cliffhanger didn't make me want to read the others. 1w
thegreensofa @CarolynM Me neither I couldn‘t go through it another three times lol. Perhaps it was bit better in its original language, it does seem to have a big following!🤔 7d

The Secret History | Donna Tartt

After not finishing The Goldfinch, I was encouraged by several people to not give up on Donna Tartt. I'm glad I listened. I realized that the reason I gave up on The Goldfinch (after reading 2/3 of it) was because I didn't like ANY of the characters, and therefore didn't care what happened to them. The characters in The Secret History were flawed & did some despicable things, but I liked (most of) them enough that I cared what happened. (cont)

mom2bugnbee This is not a whodunit, as the reader is told straight out at the beginning who murders who, but it is still a gripping page-turner. ⭐⭐⭐⭐/⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 2y
Mdargusch I‘m glad you liked this book as much as I did! 2y
KateFulfordAuthor If you like laugh-out-loud dialogue, a fast & twisty plot + strong female narrative, may I recommend my debut novel to you? Links to reviews and more are in my bio. With thanks, Kate. 2y

Very good middle grade novel for teaching the awful truth about the Klu Klux Klan without being terrifying for children. Audiobook was excellent.

⭐⭐⭐ 1/2 /⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I'm so glad that I listened to this on audio. I'm not sure that I would have been as enraptured with the story if I had been reading it in verse, but because the author read it, she was able to read it in the meter & with the infection that she intended. It was lovely, as advertised. #LitsyReadingChallenge #MMDReadingChallenge #audiobook

Eye-opening to say the least, this book tells about the struggle to earn the vote, which has been under constant attack. I truly believe that attacks on voting rights have led to the government we now have, and they will disenfranchise anyone who threatens their power. 😔

Finished on Serial. This was much dryer than I thought it would be, but interesting nonetheless.

And with this book I've completed the #LitsyAtoZ reading challenge!

The words inside gleam and burn as brightly as the cover.
