My father was in WWII. He was in a communications unit attached to the 3rd division. His stories were interesting. I read this book in the 80s. It makes me wonder how kids would fair if we had another World War and a draft. I hope we never find out.

#JuneSpecials Day 6: #DDay is explored here with the seed bank vault and deciding which of the seeds will have to go - and which ones are needed should the apocalypse come and wipe out humanity. A beautiful beautiful book. Happy that it is part of #CampLitsy2025 - gearing up to be one of my faves.

In the days leading up to D-Day, on June 5, 1944, BBC Radio Londres broadcast lines from Paul Verlaine's poem "Chanson d'automne" to the French Resistance as a coded message to indicate D-Day would occur in 2 weeks.
