This book hit me right in the FEELS. I can't say much without spoiling, but I can say I know Marie Lu is going to be my new heartbreaker. The story was so rich with action, suspense, and romance that was all evenly paced. It was so fresh from the typical dystopian I've read (as was the first one!) DEFINITELY READ IT!!! 💕😭😱

Heartrending and so important. #emotionalreads #readingresolutions @Jess7

Tomigirl44 I saw the movie, didn‘t realize there was a book, and the book‘s usually better. 6y
Mindyrecycles @Tomigirl44 The movie is good but the book is great. I read it as a fable...less painful that way but just as powerful. 6y
CoverToCoverGirl It‘s an exceedingly rare thing but for me the movie was spot on with the book! ❤️ 6y
MKbookworm I was absolutely destroyed by this story, it hovered in my mind for days afterward. 6y
tpixie The story still haunts me. The innocence... 6y

There came a point in this book when I knew I could no longer read it in public.... #emotionalreads #readingresolutions @Jess7

#ReadingResolutions Day 10: May be somewhat included as part of #EmotionalReads as this deals with an invented memoir, nostalgia, remembrances of aches endured in childhood, and the transformation brought about by a tumultuous time made seemingly innocent as perceived from the eyes of a child. There is also estrangement, the vagaries of lost love, and severing of ties even if it means a lifetime of quiet suffering. You hungry yet?

The quintessential 60's novel about an unwed expectant mother #SeptemberDanes #Pregnant
Her family's treatment of her qualifies this for #EmotionalReads too. #ReadingResolutions

LeahBergen I recently found an old copy of this at a book sale. 6y
CarolynM @LeahBergen There were a lot of them around. It was just about compulsory reading when I was a teenager in the 70's 6y
