The arrival of Gina Higgins, a mysterious stranger who is determined to restore Kiss River‘s historic nineteenth-century lighthouse, profoundly impacts the lives of Lacey O‘Neill, a talented stained-glass artist with a dark past, and her brother Clay, who is trying to rebuild his life after a devastating tragedy. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the story about saving the fresnel light. Great book!

It's 1944 and Tess DeMallo is pregnant with Henry Kraft's baby but she is engaged to Vincent Russo. She is riddled with guilt and decides to break her engagement and marry Henry. EadieB Tess goes to Washington D.C. with her friend, Gina, and she goes out to dinner with two guys who are staying in Gina's aunt's house. They have some martinis at dinner and Tess gets drunk and Henry takes her home, kisses her and they have sex. EadieB She confronts Henry and he suggests that they get married to make things better for the baby. Tess quickly realizes that she is trapped in a strange and loveless marriage with no way out. EadieB The Stolen Marriage is an emotionally captivating novel of secrets, betrayals, prejudice, and forgiveness. It is Diane Chamberlain at her best. I read this book in one sitting and really enjoyed it. The characters were very real to me and the plot was one that kept the pages turning until the very end. There were shocking twists that kept the story moving and Henry's secret was unbelievable. 2y
EadieB I am now looking forward to my next Diane Chamberlain novel. 2y

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 4.5 Stars

What happened to Riley‘s sister, Lisa, all those years ago? Did she kill herself? And why?

This one kept me up all last night until I finished, and I‘m not one to do that. I didn‘t want to stop. I personally found it predictable (I guessed what happened pretty much from the start), but that didn‘t spoil the book for me in the least bit.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 💫4.5 Stars

Yet another amazing read from #DianeChamberlain. This one sucked me in immediately and was quite the page turner. I could hardly put it down. What was CeeCee Wilkes hiding?

The only reason I did not give a full 5 stars because I did not find the ending to be realistic, but I liked how it was wrapped up at the same time. #Mystery

Necessary Lies | Diane Chamberlain

Another 5 Star ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ book from #DianeChamberlain.

She writes like no one else. Brings history into her writing to make these stories real (all while educating), adds just enough mystery to keep you thinking & turning the pages, has you loving all the characters. And it flows seamlessly.

This particular story took place in the 1960‘s. Told from two point of views (one being a social worker), & covered the Eugenics Sterilization program.

Lcsmcat She will Skype with book clubs. Ours discussed Stolen Marriage with her and she was gracious and charming. 5y
baes @Lcsmcat That‘s amazing. Makes me love her that much more. I loved The Stolen Marriage and The Dream Daughter too. Have you read others? I‘m wondering which one of hers I should read next. 5y
Lcsmcat @baes Those three are the ones I‘ve read so far. 5y
