#ReadingResolutions Day 17: My current #BookStack consisting of my book club picks IRL and virtually, plus our current reading theme at GatheringBooks on #ContoursOfLove til end of March plus #LitWorld2018GB and yes, Dinner consisting of feta saganaki (courtesy of ze husband) and champagne because CNY! :)

#FierceFeb Day 16: Henry Miller was definitely asking #IsThisDesire as he wrote this sensuous trilogy that I am hoping I will get to read for our #ContoursOfLove reading theme at GatheringBooks til end of March, but I doubt I‘d be able to. Good intentions count for something though, I believe.

I loved the sense of place in this novel, the surreal/mystical but still somewhat explicable events surrounding Faina‘s background, the down-in-the-bone melancholia, and the restrained expressions of love borne out of strife and misfortune. It is a quiet story that would grow on the reader, if you allow it. #ContoursOfLove reading theme for GatheringBooks.
