Hope you are all cozied up reading something “simply horrid“ this weekend! It's sweater weather here and I'm channeling Catherine while I recover from getting the screws removed from my ankle bone. 😱

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This YA graphic novel version of classics is wonderful. It's a great way to introduce young people to the classics through an artistic medium. I didn't even know these existed til I noticed it at my local library and I love this cover! Now I must read the 13 previous volumes. 😁

What recent library book(s) caught your attention?

These graphics classics are published by a little company just a couple of towns west of mine. They are quite high quality though. I loved the Gothic stories. I had never read Udolpho before. Pictured above are Catherine and Isabella from Northanger Abbey. The cover is Carmilla from a story of that name by J. Sheridan Le Fanu. They have a number of volumes from Poe to Twain to Wilde etc. I recommend you check them out! www.graphicsclassics.com.

DrexEdit You can tell it is a small publishing company because otherwise I don't think they would have ended up with a coffin full of blood on the cover! 😂😂👻🕸️🕷️ 8y

Thought I would share my #favouritefemaleauthors on #internationalwomensday. It spans three centuries, starting with #annradcliffe (who I did my #madissertation on), through to #agathachristie and finishing with #jkrowling.

CrowCAH I love love loved Mysteries of Udolpho! I read it because it was mentioned in Jane Austen's Northanger Abbey! ☺️ 8y
