The Villa | Nora Roberts

Sophia Giambelli has never had to worry about competition. For three generation, the Giambelli wines have been renowned for their quality- from Napa Valley to Italy, and throughout the world. The pride of the Giambelli family, and a top PR executive, Sophia loves her job- and excels at it. But things are about to change at Villa Giambelli. Tereza, the matriarch, has decreed that a merger will take place with the MacMillan family's winery- and Sophia will be taking a new role. As a savvy business-woman, she knows she has to be prepared for anything...but she isn't prepared for Tyler MacMillian. They've been ordered to work together very closely, to make the merger as smooth as possible. Sophia must teach Ty the finer points of marketing and promotion- and Ty, in turn, shows her how to get down and dirty, to use the sun, rain, and earth to coax the sweetest grapes from the vineyard. But as they toil together, both in and out of the fields, Sophia is torn between a powerful attraction and a professional rivalry. At the end of the season, the course of the company's future- and the legacy of the Villa- may take an entirely new direction. And when acts of sabotage threaten both the family business and the family itself, Sophia's quest will be not only for dominance, but survival....

Summer Reading for me has always been about taking a chance on books outside of my normal reading zone. I truly believe that reading is the cheapest passport you can get to a new world. I was a bookseller for 10 years in the 1990s and readers would come in to get Nora Roberts books. I said to myself one day I'm going actually read one of her books. I'm currently reading The Villa because I love wine! I'm 60% done and Roberts can a tell story!

Scored this one at work today! Such a pretty signature! Love the In Death series however I‘m not really a fan of her other writings, but this is a keeper anyway! And it‘s a first edition too boot!

Another solid stand alone from Nora. The ending had a little twist that was interesting. I enjoyed the family dynamic and the second chance love for the Mother.

Kammbia1 I'm currently reading this one. I have never read a Nora Roberts novel before and it is outside of my normal reading. But I love wine and thought to give it a shot. I'm enjoying it so far.

Kammbia1 @Liatrek. It was a nice, page-turning read. Roberts knows how to tell a story. Here's my review: http://marion-hill.com/wisdom-from-kammbia-book-review-17-the-villa-by-nora-robe... 3mo

I have been waiting for holds to come in from the library and I found this on my #kindle. I haven't read all of Nora Roberts books and so far each series I have read have been different. This is a standalone and I was pleasantly surprised. It sucked me in quite early... and the ending.... didn't see that coming.

tpixie She creates great characters, friendships, and dialogue. 2y
