This book celebrates the iconic mini-comics that are recognized the world over and reveals their origins in midcentury New York City. The story of Bazooka Bubble Gum is also detailed with extensive essays, including a profile of Wesley Morse, the original illustrator of Bazooka Joe. Included are reproductions of more than 100 classic comics spanning six decadesincluding the complete first series, reprinted in its entirety for the first timeas well as jokes, fortunes, and tiny ads for mail-order merchandise. This was fun - it brought back some memories!
💛 When I was young, my Dad & I would go to the tobacco shop every Saturday. My dad got his papers & cigarettes, & I got a Peppermint Pattie & a piece of Bazooka Joe gum. I just loved that routine.
🧡 This candy wasn't on the list, but I loved Zotz fizzy candy.
❤️ I loathe coconut, and have never tried any candy with coconut.

GingerAntics What is Zotz Fizzy candy?! It sounds fun! (edited) 6d
lil1inblue @GingerAntics It's a hard candy with a fizzy center. The sensation was so fun. They were made in Italy. Apparently they were popular in the 70s, but I got addicted to them at summer camp in the 90s (it was a language camp, so they had a lot of European candy). https://stuckeys.com/nostalgia-candy-zotz/ 6d
AmyG Omg Zotz!!!! And missing was Bonomo turkish taffy…vanilla was a favorite of mine. 6d
