This was so many different things.
A mix of gothic horror, family bonds, an illicit affair, socialism, misogyny, toxic codependency blended together and have me a creepy but exceptional read from an author I've never read before.
For me, this read as atmospheric due to the author's rich details, her world building, and the relationships but wow these characters are different shades of morally grey.

Puh this book got me feeling things I didn‘t know a book could make me feel
It got me sweating, gagging and even making me nauseous at some point.
If you are into a book that has a gothic vibe and a feeling of dread throughout the whole book…. Than this is perfect for you !
Don‘t get me wrong I enjoyed reading it and found it fascinating how there where so many different plots :)
An interesting gothic tale, set in 1887 Netherlands. Other than a couple mentions of place, this story feels timeless, like it could take place anywhere. It was not very scary, but there was an element of dread throughout. After an old body is recovered from a bog, Sarah begins to act different. Is she sick or has something more sinister happened to her. This was well written and kept me invested in the characters.
Just received the #arc from poisoned pen press😍😍 #netgalley will be a late night
