The sixth case for Det Sergeant Washington Poe & analyst Tilly Bradshaw sees them investigate the murder of a man found tied to a tree & stoned to death. How does his death tie into the murder of 3 members of the same family 15 years earlier?
The case is already in the past in this book & the reader hears about it through Poe relating the story to a therapist. Yes, this case was so dark it gave Poe PTSD, (continued)
It started off quite slow for me & it took about 25% of the book to really get going but once it did, it was another gripping read. I did find Poe a bit annoying at the beginning of this book with his attitude to new character Linus, it all felt a bit juvenile & I'm still not convinced by Poe's romantic relationship - absolutely no chemistry. 4🌟 3w
Favourite Bradshaw quote from the book: “She [Flynn] says Poe is the end of a bell. Although she won't tell me what that means & she says I'm not allowed to google it.“ 😄😆😂
