A low pick for me. Lots of gore and lots of ancient mysteries 😂
They are always warned… but they always go, don‘t they?

The opening chapter is the end of the book. We learn everybody is dead or missing. It takes away any sense of urgency to the story. Just waiting to see how everyone will die. And listen to your dogs. They know when you shouldn‘t be somewhere.
Book 1/13 of my birthday haul.
I loved the feeling of dread and the creepy imagery. I like true crime and am familiar with the case that inspired this story loosely which invested me even more. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was a great, horrific audiobook! You‘ve got it all: ghosts, terrifying forests, things stalking your every move, the inability to escape the hell you find yourself in, and body horror galore! It was truly terrifying and I even enjoyed the parts dealing with rock climbing and hiking. It was just really unique and kept my attention from start to finish. Definitely recommend! 🌟🌟🌟🌟

A liminal space horror story. 2 college students and 2 rock climbers will go in search of an undiscovered climbing space only to never return. You find this out in the first chapter. The rest is their story. I liked this purely based on this wretched valley that is the main character. However what‘s missing here is characterization.
