Christmas Pie | Jodi Taylor
5 posts | 2 read | 1 to read
Merry Christmas from Jodi Taylor. It's time for St Mary's traditional Christmas jump - even though it's only September...St Mary's has never lacked for enemies, but danger has never been closer to home. A state of war has broken out between St Mary's and the Women's Institute - the Raffia Mafia.Markham, Max, Peterson and Miss Sykes must jump to Restoration London in search of real Christmas pie - the honour of St Mary's is at stake. At least that how it all begins, but this is St Mary's after all... Readers love Jodi Taylor: 'The Chronicles of St Mary's is one of the most enjoyable series of books I have ever read' 'Jodi Taylor is a master storyteller''I don't think I've ever laughed out loud so much reading a book''I am always gutted when I finish a Jodi Taylor book as I know I will have to wait for the next one'

Despite my best efforts reading this whilst cooking Christmas dinner was not a success but did take me a lovely hour yesterday when everyone else went on a dog walk

julesG Maybe try the audiobook next time? We (as in my daughter and I) listened to the story together yesterday and today while cooking. It was my fourth read of the story (🙈🙈🙈) 4mo
Itchyfeetreader I really struggle with audio books of fiction but maybe starting with this series which I love is a great idea @julesG 4mo

Life is good. Set by the fire, drinking tea and reading the latest Jodi Taylor Christmas short story - Christmas Pie

What fun! Especially spotting all Titles of St Mary's Books. And it's from Markham POV! I got a little teary eyed at one part. Loved it so much. 😊

julesG Did you notice the Time Police titles and Elizabeth Cage titles, too? 4mo
Crinoline_Laphroaig @julesG I noticed Time Police and haven't read Elizabeth Cage. 4mo

For the St Mary's fans out there, you'll understand why I chose this picture once you've read at least the first part of the story.

Had to wait until 9 a.m. CET to listen to the #audiobook. Zara Ramm did a great job! I might just re-read the story for a third time today. (I know I'm ga-ga!)

TheBookHippie This picture!!!! Love. 4mo
Crinoline_Laphroaig So good! 4mo
julesG @TheBookHippie I think I want the picture printed and framed for next year's holiday season 4mo

julesG @Crinoline_Laphroaig I saw your comment on Goodreads. I also read the story first and then listen when straightening the house for Christmas. 4mo
julesG @Crinoline_Laphroaig I tried the challenge with cookies, but gave up (eating cookies) before they even jumped. 4mo
TheBookHippie @julesG Yes! It‘s just a whole vibe!! 4mo
Crinoline_Laphroaig @julesG I didn't even try. 😆 4mo

Another St Mary's short from Markham's POV!

Read past my bedtime. This landed on my Kindle at midnight and needed to be read.

Currently listening to the #audiobook, because that wasn't available until 9 a.m. CET. 😡

This is my #wintergamestbr list so far. I won‘t read all of these but I‘m not sure yet which books for my challenges I want to read yet so I‘m listing them all. I also have listed books I like to reread every Christmas.

I have an ebook collection of Christmas books I want to align with some of the challenges I‘m seeing are being posted on litsy. So this is just part 1! #snowangels @Emilymdxn

TEArificbooks I have Us Against You for food and lit too, and The Lake house and Clockmakers daughter for author a month also on my tbr 5mo
CogsOfEncouragement I read A Christmas Carol a few years ago and it is full of dry wit. I didn‘t expect it to be so funny. Enjoy. 5mo
Emilymdxn Gorgeous TBR! Go #snowangels ❄️❄️❄️ 5mo

Texreader @TEArificbooks We will have a kind of buddy read next month! 5mo
Texreader @CogsOfEncouragement That‘s when I fell in love with Dickens—the first time I read Christmas Carol. Reading the story itself and not just a remake it becomes obvious the original is the best. 5mo
Texreader @Emilymdxn I‘m hoping for a very productive month!! 5mo
