I devoured this book. Even with the more serious subject matter, I found it hard to put down. I loved the rawness and realness of both Logan and Mattie.

STARS IN YOUR EYES is my fifth Kacen Callender novel. My first two of their books blew me away and ensured their spot on my Must Read list. My next two were resoundingly okay. So far, this one‘s in the middle; really good, but not mindblowing. We shall see how the back half goes. #gaymay

I really appreciated how Callender played with the "typical" structure for a romance novel here! Mattie and Logan were both so easy to root for, and I loved how their happy ending was genuinely happy but acknowledged that getting together ISN'T the end of growth. Very complex and real! #contemporaryromance

Trauma trauma trauma. This book was ok but toward the end I really wanted it to end. Felt like one long therapy session. I enjoyed the main characters Matty and Logan but this novel dragged, not much actually happened and had sad themes.

A lot darker than I was prepared for, but I flew through this. I am a sucker for fake dating tropes.

I am still not sure if I liked the extras that were sprinkled throughout - fan fiction in particular I don't feel like added to the story though I understand why they added it.

Callender is one of my favorite new authors.

It's #botm time! I went with three this month. I already read a couple of the October picks and add-ons and I'm pretty sure I'm getting another one of them in a different box. I was pleasantly surprised to see Stars in Your Eyes. It was already on my TBR.

Pressed play on the audiobook the second I got it. Bonus: full cast!
