I finally got to have an outdoor supper today! No wind! No rain! Whee!

I ate my leftovers from breakfast (potatoes topped with chili and egg). It was a lot prettier in the pan. Promise.

I started IN THE LIVES OF PUPPETS when I couldn‘t sleep last night, and I‘m whipping along through it. It‘s so nice to have two highly readable books in a row after some enjoyable-but-slow stuff. #gaymay

Some days you‘ve gotta eat a McGriddle and read a powerful book that actively defies all those colonial genre boundaries. Joshua Whitehead is an otâcimow (storyteller) to revel in. #gaymay

This is not an MM romance, nor is it a coming out story. I think I‘d describe it as a coming to terms story. It‘s about the ongoing impact of the reactions of friends & family & of the attitudes of the cis gay male community & the wider society. In many respects it‘s an examination of Arthur Less‘s question of what it is to be a “good gay”. It‘s funny & sad & ultimately hopeful. I liked it a lot. #ozfiction. #gaymay🏳️‍🌈.

New book + soup dumplings for lunch! I‘ve got a good vibe off this one so far. It‘s very sportsy and immediate, but it IS pretty long for a romance. Hopefully it‘ll keep that immediacy throughout. #gaymay

While this 3rd book in the series doesn‘t live up to the first one, Winging It, it was still an entertaining read and I loved the cameos from Dante and Gabe. #Romantsy #GayMay 🏳️‍🌈

Oh, friends. Casey‘s grumpy face aside, this is exactly what I needed. I love CRY TO HEAVEN so much I never want to put it down, but at the same time I want to abandon it so it‘ll never be less perfect than it is now. Which is a silly impulse, since it‘s a reread and I know it‘s amazing all the way through.

It‘s got me thinking deep thoughts about character arcs and music and the person I was the last time I read it. I‘m so happy, y‘all. #gaymay

I don‘t usually read contemporary romance, they tend to be too trendy and fluffy for my taste ( Where‘s the angst and morally grey, definitely problematic love interest??) BUT wow!! This was SO CUTE. I LOVED Ellie and Jack (Jack was 🔥) I loved all the tropes and all the quipy characters. This book made me cry, it had the feels and the sap and I really had fun reading it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #gaymay 🏳️‍🌈 #BOTM

Yep; I still love the hell out of CRY TO HEAVEN. Every time I pick it up, I‘m right there inside it. I gulped down a big chunk earlier, with tea and sake on the side, and now I‘m ready to dive back in and keep at it until I pass out. #gaymay
